The inaugural of Bengaluru's first underground air-conditioned marketplace, Palike Bazaar, located in Vijayanagar near the Metro and bus stations, took place on Sunday. This milestone introduces South India's pioneering underground market, inspired by Delhi's Palika Bazaar. Furthermore, a recent advancement in the city's subterranean commerce landscape is the approval of the Tunnel Road project, aimed at alleviating Bengaluru's persistent traffic congestion. The ambitious 18-kilometre dual-tube tunnel project, running from Hebbal Flyover to Central Silk Board Junction, is set to feature five access points. However, it will take some time before the residents of Bengaluru will be able to benefit from this new Tunnel Road.
